Remedy crafting new survival horror action adventure seeing titular writer face off against Mr. Scratch. Alan Wake may not have been Microsoft’s best-selling Xbox 360 exclusive, but the Remedy-developed survival horror action adventure will be returning. That fact was confirmed at the Spike TV Video Game Awards tonight, with the announcement of Alan Wake: American Nightmare.
Titular hero Alan Wake is again the star of the show, as the writer journeys to another remote town. According to the trailer, Wake is facing off against a new supernatural villain, Mr. Scratch. The two do battle using the powers of light (for Wake) and darkness (for Scratch).
The trailer did not indicate when Alan Wake: American Dream will see release, nor on which platforms. However, the title had previously been pegged as an Xbox Live Arcade release.
I’ve played quite a bit of the latest entry in Croteam’s twitchtastic first-person shooter series, but I never encountered the super-speedy giant unkillable pink spider creature in the first level. Know why? Because my copy isn’t pirated.
In order to curb rampant pc game piracy, developer Croteam purposefully included a bug (hee) in Serious Sam 3: BFE that trips when the game has been cracked. The bug (I said it again!) spawn a pleasantly-pink, positively unkillable scorpion creature that will hound the player until he or she is dead, dead, dead. To give the pirate a fighting chance, the spawn point is right next to the game’s first projectile weapon. It won’t have any effect, of course, but you’ll briefly feel better.
While not a particularly effective means of combating piracy, the giant immortal pink scorpion is a fun way to catch those masquerading as legitimate customers in places like GameFaqs.
You’ll finally be able to get your hands on the medieval, character-switching action of Trine 2 today, if you’re getting it on Steam. The game’s gorgeous art style and beautiful color palette manifests into gorgeous vistas and sharp character animations. As previously mentioned, console versions release a little later. Either way, consider this sequel an anecdote to the grit and brown of the last few months’ AAA games.

You’ve gotta love a game that makes a sly reference to 2010 indie darling Limbo. But, further perusal shows that Pid’s not going to be like PlayDead’s hit game. It’s got color! Energy! Localized gravity fountains! The retro-styled release happens on a remote alien planet where you’ll need to jump, solve and float your way past the local fauna—or are they automata?—through multiple levels of platformer action. Pid’s the result of a partnership between developer Might and Delight and production company Beefy Media. Collectively, the guys who make up Might and Delight have titles like Mirror’s Edge, Battlefield, and Killzone on their resumes, but their most relevant experience in this instance is their joint work on the first Bionic Commando: Rearmed release from Capcom. Pid will launch into orbit on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next year.

This isn’t one of those mildly boring “look at an object I recreated in Minecraft” posts. This is hot-blooded machinima, Minecraft’s blocks used to recreate whole sequences from the end of Star Wars.
It’s the work of reader Grahame, aka Paradise Decay, who is not just a games musician, he’s a dude who has found that “somehow minecraft is taking over my life”.
That happens. At least he turned the addiction into something we can all enjoy.
If you like what Grahame’s cooking here, know that next year he’s releasing a full-blown Star Wars/Minecraft adventure called Rise of the Rebellion.
Check out this guy’s room totally change into the movie he is watching! No SFX, no post production, no cuts, everything you see here is 100% for real.
We were funded by the Video Store of PlayStation® Store (http://www.greatfilmsfillrooms.com) to make a series of movie related videos using ‘Immersive Imaging’ which takes 3D projection mapping as its starting point, but gives the viewer a supercharged experience with the help of the PlayStation Move controller.
In the past, projection mapping worked only from a single, static view point, and thus was very limited. By attaching the PlayStation Move to the camera, we can track projections to screens in real time, enhancing the effect of spatial deformation and false perspective on the projections and allowing viewers to look round (virtual) corners, bend walls, create a hole in the wall, or remove the walls altogether to reveal vast expanses of virtual worlds.
Ah, so maybe we do have CS:GO beta keys after all… We’d probably better get on with playing that. (Also Tribes: Ascend, which we haven’t quite caught up with yet either.) Anyway! I am sure a few of you are already saving up for Desert Eagles, while the rest of the internet will have to make do with a few measly minutes of game footage here and there, such as that found below this post. I’ve also dropped in a comparison video which compares the Source version of CS with CS:GO. It certainly looks pretty, and I am sure Hidden Path/Valve are making a decent job of the manshoots, too. OR ARE THEY?
